Nancy Mill's Cream Cheese Tassies

Ingredients:

1/2 C. Butter - Room Temp
1 - 8 oz pkg cream cheese
1 C. sifted all purpose flour
1/4 C. sugar
1 tsp sugar
1 egg
1/2 tsp vanilla
Sour Cream
1 can Cherry Pie Filling

Cream together the following:
1/2 C. Margarine - Softened
1/3 of 8 oz pkg cream cheese
1 tsp. sugar
Add 1 C. sifted all purpose flour

Mix well.  Chill dough for at least 2 hours. Divide dough into 24 one inch balls. Press into the bottoms of mini-muffin tin, creating a "well"

Filling
Mix together until creamy:
2/3 of 8 oz pkg cream cheese
1/4 C. sugar
1 egg
1/2 tsp vanilla

Put 1 tsp of filling in each mini-muffin tin.

Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes.  Remove from oven and allow to cool. Remove from mini-muffin tin.

To serve:
Place 1/2 tsp of Sour Cream on top of tassie.
Spoon 1 cherry from a can of cherry pie filling on top of the sour cream.

NOTE:  Nancy Mills made these little cheese cake beauties for special occasions. I now make them for the holidays.  You can make and freeze the tassies ahead of time.  Defrost, decorate and enjoy!
