Ganny's Pumpkin Bread
Ingredients:
Sift together:
3 1/2 cups Flour
1 tsp. Salt
2 tsp. Baking Soda
2 tsp. Cinnamon
1 tsp. Nutmeg
3 cups Sugar
Mix:
4 eggs
20 oz. Pumpkin #303 can
3/4 cup Water
1 cup Vegetagle Oil
Preparation:
Mix together. (Optional) Add 1 cup Chopped Nuts and Dates or Yellow Raisins.
Grease and Flour (4) 1 pound coffee cans (Folger's is what she used). Fill coffee cans 1/2 full. Bake at 350 for ~ 1 hour.
Notes:
You can use whatever pan you want to bake in. Folger's cans definitely add to the nostalgia. I am not sure they come in metal anymore. I think they are all plastic these days.
